The new fragrances from standard Vince Camuto's masculine line, Vince Camuto Terra and Vince Camuto Homme, have just launched.
"Terra" is a fresh aquatic, woody and aromatic fragrance for men. The second fragrance for men, "Homme", takes the same shape of modern flacon, but is covered in navy blue leather this time and accentuated with seal of the brand in metallic silver form. Both are available as a 15, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.
Terra is a fresh gourmand fragrance, that opens up with an aquatic-like brightness alongside a heavy gourmand essence. The oversoul of the fragrance is very similar to Versace Eros, which I would say has to do with the prominence of the strong vanilla/tonka combination. On the skin you get a lot more of the Geranium, citrus and woods, the notes appear more vibrant and it livens up the fragrance quite a bit (almost setting it apart from Eros). This could obviously be the notion behind the name "Terra" for the fragrance, which might be suggesting that this fragrance's greatest potential takes birth from the ground (from the skin or the body).
The opening is very beautiful with a delicious juniper berry note, it is much more fruity and sweeter than I would have imagined.
The gin is quite nice in the opening but burns off sort of quick, I really wished that stayed around a bit more. The citrus is quite nice (but not different from most) but it is the juniper berry in the opening that really gives this a unique aroma and seperates it from others in department stores.
Now even more interesting is the drydown, though it is quite light by this time it is still presence but the juniper is accompanied by a nice birch note that gives it a leathery feel with a slight nice musk to add to the base. It is like a soft fresh/musky leather with juniper berry.
