When you don't have anything to wear, you have to get creative and repurpose items. My look on this hot summer day in Atlanta, is a perfect example of that. As you all know, I'm on a never-ending brunch moment, so this was my look for brunch at one of my fave spots, 10th & Piedmont in Midtown.
My "shirt/top" is actually a traditional 'thawb', that my mom got me while she was in Dubai. I was going to wear it by itself, but I decided that would be a little to authentic for the Atlanta market. So I paired it with a pair of distressed denim from American Eagle, and my new Chelsea Boots from TOPMAN. I repurposed the thawb into a tunic, and put a urban spin on it by tucking it into my jeans for an effortlessly chic look.
But, the statement piece of this look has to be this amazing bag that my dear friend Sonique, of SoniqueSaturday.com made custom for me. She's the designer behind the "You Fake Like This Birkin" 'faux' Birkin bags, seen on celebs like Amber Rose, Christina Milian, and Traci Ellis Ross. After I saw the tan color (which is perfect for Fall) I had to have something just as cheeky, as the original slogan.
